The opening music starts during the company logos as opposed to the start of the film. We have a pan towards someone's feet and this leaves the audience asking the questions: Who is this person? What is he doing? and why is he there? Then we have a focus pull into his face, but it is hidden behind some glasses his hair and his hands. This still keeps the audience questioning his identity. A cut straight to a master shot of the first character we see and another character in this scene shows the audience who the main characters are. But it also makes the audience aske questions about what has happened to the girl on the ground by the water. We have a medium close up of the main character's face but it is still partially by his hands and still makes the audience ask questions about who he is. And here we have a number of tracks into the two characters which could show that there is a relationship between them. Then there is a track into the female character's arm to show some bracelets that might be significant to the relationship between the two characters. With a cut straight to before what ever happened at the start where she is putting something into someone else's locker at school. Here we have a track going down to the floor so that we will only be able to see peoples feet. During this, we see someone coming around the corner. Again this makes the audience ask the question; Who is this? what are they doing? and Where are they going? The audience is left to assume that this is the main character because the piece of paper that the female character put into his locker falls to the floor and they are asking what is on the paper. the character looks around to see if there is anyone there before he opens the note. We still don't know who the character is because this shot is taken form a distance so as to hide the features of the face. He opens the note as the audience is still left to guess what it says or what it might mean. And finally here we have a cut to the location on the paper on the corner of where these two streets meet and our main character is waiting for someone.
